Color Wheel - Why use a color wheel?

Using a color wheel will help a great deal with chosing and blending your painting colors for your paintings. Here is a super powerful tip for blending colors for your paintings.

If you want your color to be lighter don't use white unless you are wanting a pastel color. Instead, use a color up on the color wheel to make your color lighter. Example: To make your orange color lighter you will use yellow.

To make a color darker you will use a color down on the color wheel. Example: To darken orange you will use red.
