Acrylic Painting on Canvas

Acrylic painting seems to be the most popular medium in painting. That is what is most requested in my studio and online. Some people prefer oils because they feel oils are more blendable and dry slower. True, though that is also one of the biggest complaints of oil painters is that their paintings dry too slowly not allowing them to work on their paintings for longer periods of time.

Advantages of acrylic painting is the paints dry faster often allowing a painter to paint and entire painting in just one day. Once you learn the secrets of how to extend the drying period of your paintings and how to blend your paint by using acrylic blending techniques you will fall in love with acrylic painting.

I have developed an easy, simple approach to learning acrylic painting that I know you will really like and learn a lot about improving on your acrylic painting skills. This method I have developed over the years with my in studio painting students. My students learn quickly and are amazed at how well they do in a short amount of time.

How to Clean Your Acrylic Painting Brushes

You know art supplies aren't cheap. By now I'm sure you know that. Right? So some simple acrylic brush care is important. One important care tip is to rinse your brush often. Don't let one brush have paint in it while you start using another brush and another color. Great way to ruin a brush! Water, water, water, rinse, rinse, rinse. After you rinse your brush let the brush lay flat on a paper towel. Never let the brush stand upright in your brush container until the brush is dry. Never leave a brush in a container of water for very long. In this day and age we are all so busy with many distractions!
